7 Things

You Need To Know About Bali

Since long time ago, Bali has been so popular as one of the most interesting tours destinations in Indonesia and probably the world. Here below, we are bringing you 7 things that you need to know about Bali.

Best Time To Visit

For many reasons, best time to come to Bali is April, May, June and September, just before and just after high season. It's still dry season, it's slightly less humid, and room prices and villa rentals can be 30-50% cheaper than during high season. Many shops offer sales and promotions, restaurants are less crowded in those mid-season months, and in general Bali is a bit more relaxed. October is not too bad either, still much less rain than November.

Recommended Beaches

Surrounded by the sea, Bali has a lot of beaches. From west to east, most recommended beaches on the island are Saba, Pura Masceti, Lebih and Pura Klotek beach.

Temples to Visit

Almost every village in Bali has at least three temples. Families worship their ancestors in family temples, clans in clans temple and so on. For much of the year Balinese temples are deserted, but on holy days it’s believed that deities and ancestral spirits descend from heaven to visit their devotees, and the temples come alive with days of frenetic activity and nights of drama and dance. If you are visiting Bali, and curious about their Hinduism you can visit their most recommended temple that located in Uluwatu, Tanah Lot and Besakih.

Surfing

As one of the best surf destination in the world, you absolutely need to try surfing in Bali. Breaks are found right around the south side of the islands and there's a large infrastructure of schools, boar rental places, cheap surfer dives and more that cater to the crowds. For beginners try to surf in Kuta, Legian and Seminyak beach.

Scuba Paradise

With more than 100 dive center, Bali is a scuba paradise for all divers around the world. Bali most recommended dive sites include Blue Corner and Jackfish Point located in Nusa Lembongan, and Cenibgan Point at the tip of Nusa Ceningan. Try to dive around July to September for a lucky chance meeting the famous Mola Mola fish and Manta Rays.

Travel around Bali

Bali is a small island, you can drive it entire coast in one day. For the best experience, try to travel around the island by renting motorcycle or scooter. You will have a chance to enjoy the green rice terraces and mesmerizing nature view. But always be careful with your speed! Fatal accident happen daily and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Plastic

Just like any other place in Indonesia, plastic is the number 1 problem in Bali. Everything you throw away stays on Bali or will be washed into the sea. Effective rubbish management in this part of the world is not really existing. Help Bali by being a conscious consumer and avoid plastic bottles, straw and plastic bag when shopping.

There are as many images of Bali as there are flowers on the ubiquitous frangipani trees. As you stumble upon the exquisite little religious offerings, enchanting Hindu temple ceremonies or even their impossibly green rice terraces, you will see that their colorful culture and nature is a metaphor for Bali itself.
