Caving

Cave Exploring

Hello Yellowers,

Have you ever heard about caving? Caving is the art of safely moving through a natural cave to a destination and returning to the surface without hurting yourself or the cave itself.

Caving is often undertaken for the enjoyment of the outdoor activity or for physical exercise, as well as original exploration, similar to mountaineering or diving. Physical or biological science is also an important goal for some cavers, while others are engaged in cave photography.

As in Indonesia, There are many caves that is interesting to be discover. One of them is Cave Jomblang. The cave are located in Semanu, Gunung Kidul Regency. This cave popular with the hole on its ceiling that will let sunlight in and were formed over thousands years by rainwater and underground rivers that eroded the karst rock.

If you are new to this activity prepare yourself to be in tight space. For some people caving can help with claustrophobia, but for some caving might become primal root of the fear itself. It has its dangers, but it also delivers against the dangers with an experience you will never forget.

Never cave alone and always have someone with you that has been in the cave before. At minimum you will need to prepare some equipment such as helmet with chinstraps, three independent sources of light, and spare batteries. Be respectful to the nature, follow the rules and always put safety as priority.

Stay Safe,
