Famous Landmark in Indonesia

Landmark is important for some place or city. It is used to be the symbol of the city itself, so the other foreign people will notice where the city is just from the landmark of the city itself. That is why, many local government create the historical building or the other unique landmark as their icon or landmark for their city. Here are few landmark in Indonesia that you should see.

 

Ampera Bridge, South Sumatra

Palembang in South Sumatra is famous for the Bridge Amperanya. Built from 1962 to 1965, the Ampera Bridge went on to become an icon of South Sumatra.

 

Equator monument, West Kalimantan

Equator Monument located in West Kalimantan, and this monument is the landmark of Pontianak. This monument was built as the point line of the equator line of earth by the Dutch expedition in 1929. Tourists are allowed to go to inside of the monument.

 

National Monument, Jakarta

This monument stood as the landmark of the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta. National monument has length more than 100 meter, and at the top of it, there is a fire sculpture made of gold.

 

National Bridge Suramadu

National Suramadu bridge is a bridge that crosses the Madura Strait, connecting the island of Java (Surabaya) and the island of Madura (in Bangkalan, exactly east Kamal), Indonesia. With a length of 5438 m, this bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia today.
